Happy September! The mornings are brisk and the leaves are changing color. Even though it’s not officially Fall, it’s Fall. School buses are back on the streets, days are a bit shorter, there’s homework, football games and the kids are asking “What’s for dinner?” This last question is one that leaves me in continuous planning mode with three teenagers in the house. Grocery shopping leaves me exhausted so I choose to plan my meals a week at a time and only go to the store once a week. Every Sunday I sit down with my calendar, scan my favorite whole food cooking blogs and layout a menu for a week. Then I assemble my shopping list and head to my favorite stores. During the week, I also double up on casseroles and make two at a time so one can be frozen for those days when I’m too busy or tired to cook. The other thing built into my week is PIZZA NIGHT and date night. I call these Mom Breaks.

One of our favorite local Renton restaurants meets all criteria for a Mom Break! Angelos Pizza & Pasta House is a small family owned dinner house with outstanding food. My sweetie and I can go for a date night dinner and grab a pizza to go for the little chicks at home. Last week we brought home Eva’s Pizza which is one I could eat every single day! Pizza sauce, mozzarella, feta, chicken, garlic, pesto, spinach, onions and sun-dried tomatoes. 

Owners, Tom and Lisa, have created a family-friendly atmosphere with red checkered tablecloths, delicious food and an intimate atmosphere that makes you feel like your dining amongst friends. This iconic Renton restaurant has been around since 1986, so if you haven’t been you must go try it. If you are too busy with life to dine in, use Door Dash to deliver your favorite pizza.
