This home sits among mature evergreens in South Colby, a community that was active in the days of the Mosquito Fleet at the turn of the century. The house is right down the road from Harper Pier, Harper Park, and the Southworth Ferry Terminal, allowing you to easily sail in and out of Seattle. The property is quiet, peaceful, and close to local trails as well, including the Harper Park Trail about a mile away.
Whether you spend your days hiking or kayaking, you’ll delight in coming home to gorgeous grounds overlooking the water. Relax with a cold drink at the edge of the lawn, light the Weber gas grill on the deck, and pick fresh herbs from the back garden to enhance your barbecue dinner. Dine at the patio table at the base of the trees or beneath the umbrella on the deck, and linger around the propane fire table to tell stories into the evening.
Inside, you’ll be greeted by the original Douglas fir floors, central air, and inviting spots to relax at every turn. The kitchen features stainless steel appliances and a built-in breakfast nook, while the dining room looks out over the sound (with a telescope on hand to help you glimpse passing otters). Gather by the electric fireplace and stream movies in the living room, or escape to the den, the office nook, or the cheerful workout room in a separate building next to the house.
