Steve and I just went through a big move and I thought it would be helpful to post the checklist that I created to help me stay organized. We moved during a global pandemic, at a time when it was somewhat terrifying to have strangers in your home, so we chose to do most of the move ourselves. We used 1-800-Pack-Rat and Penske Trucks to get all our stuff to our new zip code. And since we aren’t exactly young we needed a very methodical plan to load and unload without throwing out our backs.

The pod was delivered 10 days before our move date. It was picked up the morning of the move and dropped in the driveway of our new house. We rented and 18′ truck from Penske to load all the remaining items and loaded it the morning of the house closing.
